Habayit — the home — provides short-term furnished apartments for people coming to New York for medical treatment or surgery. Our guests come from all over the world for life-saving care.
A hospital stay is hard enough. Finding a place to stay near the hospital, affording it for weeks or months, cooking kosher meals in a strange city, getting to appointments — that weight shouldn't fall on a family already carrying so much.
We currently have 17 beautiful apartments, with more on the way. Every one is fully furnished, stocked and ready before a family walks through the door.

Private, clean and fully equipped — beds made, towels out, kitchen stocked. Close to the hospitals our families need.
Kosher kitchens & meals
Every kitchen is kosher and stocked on arrival. Volunteers cook and deliver dinners so nobody comes back from the hospital to an empty fridge.

Rides to treatment, someone to visit, someone to call at 2am. Our guests become family, and they stay family long after they go home.

We match you to an apartment
We look at availability, location and accessibility, then confirm the details with you directly — usually within a few days.
You arrive to a home
Keys, a stocked kitchen and a phone number to call any hour. Stay as long as your treatment requires. There is never a charge.
